Make A Wish – Thanks to the amazing generosity of all our guests and boxers, we raised £20,371.00
Make-A-Wish UK is a charity that created life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
To be eligible for a wish, a child must be aged between 3 and 17 years who are fighting a critical illness and have not had a wish from another wish granting organisation.
Since being established in the UK in 1986, Make-A-Wish has transformed the lives of more than 12,000 seriously ill children by turning their One True Wish into a reality. This year, Make-A-Wish wants to grant life-changing wishes to 1,200 children, they receive no government funding, so rely on the generosity of their supporters to make these wishes come true.
Neil Bookatz, who has attended all of the Rumble events and is a Patron of Make-A-Wish says: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working for the first time with Rumble with the Agents who are raising funds for Make-A-Wish through their white-collar boxing event. We are so grateful for their support, and the funds raised through the event will enable us to grant more magical wishes to children and young people fighting critical illnesses.”

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care –Thanks to the amazing generosity of all our guests, we raised over £16,300.00
Behind the blue door of Howard House, 23 Union Street is not only a warm welcome for people living with cancer, their families and carers but a calm environment with people who have time to listen.
For those coming to Cherry Lodge we offer them something important: the belief that everyone, whose life is affected by cancer, has the right to the best support and information throughout their cancer journey.
Cherry Lodges works in partnership with hospitals and community healthcare services, understanding that it is not just about the times at hospital, important as they are, but also about quality of life.
Cherry Lodge offers much needed additional help; information, support or complementary therapies. Our services are led by two Macmillan Cancer Information Nurses and are available free of charge.
The majority of therapies, including acupuncture, aromatherapy, hypnotherapy, reflexology, reiki healing and counselling are based in Howard House; we can often arrange home visits when people are unable to come to us.
There are weekly drop-ins and twice monthly evening drop-ins; people can speak to a nurse, enjoy a tea or coffee, receive a short therapy and share their experiences. Group activities include a singing group, an art group and exercise classes. There are also support groups for people with lymphoma, ovarian, prostate and bladder cancer
One of our Macmillan Nurses runs our outreach service, providing one-to-one confidential advice regarding cancer and other healthcare issues in various community centres throughout the borough.
We now have some 1,500 active members and if not for our wonderful group of more than 150 volunteers, we certainly would not be able to help and support so many people. We have two charity shops, Barnet and Borehamwood, hold our own fundraising and networking events and support third party events.

It has not always been an easy journey. Our charity was founded in 1988, when palliative care was in its infancy. Initially it was all about providing such care, starting with a very successful symptom-control support team at Barnet Hospital, it was soon realised that we needed to extend our work to supporting people with cancer all the way through their cancer journey.
Our first Information and Support Centre opened in May 1988 in a Portakabin at Barnet Hospital. An important milestone was reached in 2003 with the arrival of our 1000th new member. The following year we had to leave the Barnet Hospital site but were fortunate in finding our current building in Union Street.
No charity can stand still, so should anyone reading this article have new ideas whether it is to raise funds, offer new networking opportunities, or to volunteer, we would love to hear from you.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice – Thanks to all the Boxers and Guests, we raised £18,000.00
Once again we decided to support Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice to help generate funds for the new hospice they are currently building in High Barnet, which will help many families during the difficult times they face.
2016
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice – Thanks to the amazing generosity of all our guests, we raised over £22,000.00
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is a community based hospice service providing support for children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families in North London. They provide care and support to 178 families, 147 children and 245 siblings. Their mission is:
To provide care and support for children and young people from birth who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Their aim is to enable them to live full lives and to achieve their aspirations;
To ensure that families are able to live life as fully as possible whilst their child is still alive and go on to face the future with hope after bereavement.
Noah’s Ark currently has an annual income target of £1.4m to provide vital services. As a charity they remain dependent on private donations to provide services with only 10% of funding coming from the statutory sector. Noah’s Ark are currently raising money to build a hospice so that they can provide care outside the home.

Everyone here, or who donated, and all the boxers have made every precious moment count for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice by raising a fantastic £22,000. Thank you so very much on behalf of all our children, young people and their families. In particular, thank you to Paul and Rita Shamplina who spent so much time and effort organising this amazing event.”

Rainbow Trust – Thanks to the amazing generosity of all our guests and boxers, we raised over £17,000.00
Last year’s charity was the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and we raised just over £17,000.00. It is the leading organisation providing emotional and practical support direct to children with a life threatening or terminal illness and their families in England. No parent should outlive their child and the charity believes that families should not have to cope alone. The charity supports over 25% of the 6,000 families in England who could benefit from its support.
“Public generosity funds the majority of our work, with less than 3% of monies coming from government funding. Just £22 provides an hour’s care for a family in need – which means Landlord Action has funded more than 818 hours of care.
